WELCOME TO ZONE 18
Zone 18 Pony Clubs is a regional zone of the Pony Club Association of Queensland and is a member of Pony Club Australia.
The 15 North Queensland Pony Clubs that make up Zone 18 include Babinda, Innisfail and Tully to the south of Cairns, Atherton, Mareeba, Malanda, Kuranda, Ravenshoe and Millaa Millaa to the west, Mossman to the north, and the Cairns suburban clubs at Cairns City, Earlville, Freshwater, Edmonton, and Gordonvale.
Members represent their Zone in a range of disciplines when competing at State Championships, with qualifying events held regularly within the Zone.
The objectives of Pony Club are:
- To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding
- To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship and to instil in members the proper care of their animals
- To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.
